plesant, not brilliant, by ponydom on February 26, 2003
This isn't McCaffrey's best work, but it's a cozy little novella suggesting a history that ties together King Arthur, Britain's first Arabian imports, and the invention of the horse shoe, told from the point of view of an apprentice. It's a worthy addition to her catalog. I was glad to find it (yes, there are horses on the cover) and I spent a pleasant afternoon reading it.
