It was ok, not great, but not horribly horrible, either. Good light fluff for at the beach when I also had to keep an eye on my son. There were a fair amount of inacduracies. In addition to the bedding on fresh dirt, there was: feeding the stallion armfuls of grass in his stall and bringing down armfuls of hay from the hayloft (I prefer bales, myself. It's easier.). My favorite, however, had to be when the heroine took a tumble at "the mound." I'm not quite sure what kind of jump a mound is, but apparently, it's a dangerous one.
Poorly researched, by Foxhound on April 15, 2004
The horse was 4, and she was taking him to some big show that was the only selection trial for the Olympics. When the horse got mad, he would let out a "howl of anger" and pace around his stall, which was kept bedded with "fresh dirt." To top it all off, the heroine's love interest is her heterosexual male trainer. Talk about unrealistic. (kidding!) The author needed to do more research than just driving past a farm.
