Description:
Buying a pony is logical thing to do if you happen to have a life long love of horses, a large farm and two wee children. However, buying a scruffy pony of unknown origins and abilities whose main attraction was her price tag, when those children are both under the age of three and the afore mentioned farm is best described as a “fixer-upper,” can have some laugh out loud repercussions.
But to describe “Chronicles of the $700 Pony” (Half Halt Press, 2006 www.halfhaltpress.com) as a “funny book” is a bit like describing Chocolate Decadence as a “pretty nice dessert.” Thru out, you are carried into the life of the author, and her pony, as they progress (barely) towards a partnership. The path is somewhat rocky at times, and there are the errant rogue deer and cows, psycho mutts and Wee Children, but overall the story, while being funny, is also touching.
