Horse Stories at ponydom.com

Where to buy books

So many titles are hard to find at a typical bookstore. Amazon.com is a good bet, and even some out of print titles can be found there. Alibris often has a good selection of older titles. Ebay is a good source, as well as its sister half.com. I've also had success with Bookfinder. Don't forget to try your local library, either - most have catalogs online and have interlibrary loan arrangements.

Many horse titles are published in the UK. In some cases, you may be able to find them easier and cheaper by buying directly from a UK bookstore, such as amazon.co.uk, even after you pay for shipping. The internet makes this easy.

Finally, there are booksellers (new and used) that specialize in equestrian titles. Some are listed below. If you carry a large selection of titles and would like to be added, please contact ponydom.com.

Keep in mind that in most cases, horse fiction is written by obscure authors and is not a big moneymaker. Authors are only paid for purchases of new books, so if there's an author you love, and the work is in print, consider buying new. This increases the chance that the author and the publisher will take a risk on the next book, and that there will be more horse books for all of us.

Powell's - this Portland, OR bookstore is worth a visit to Portland all on its own. It has an online store that thoughtfully sections out Children's & Young Adult Horse Stories. We are a Powell's partner, and receive a commission if you buy new or used books via one of our links.
Amazon.com - this site is an Amazon Associate, and if you choose to buy books there, please use our links to help support the site. We get a small commission from any book you purchase if you follow a link, either from this search box or from an individual book page. (We hope someday to earn enough to purchase a paperback book or two.) Amazon actually has a very nice setup for buying and selling out-of-print books.
